Her main area of agenda has focused on issues like trade, school safety and opioids. The position she holds, however, means that Schlapp has not been in touch with many journalists. In March, she garnered some interest after her name was suggested as a possible contender in the race to replace Hope Hicks in the role of director of communications. It hasn't been an easy fight. The ally of Schlapp's, Tony Sayegh, and an opponent who is also named Tony began fighting in the news. Schlapp told that the Washington Examiner that she spoke with Sayegh regarding an article that had been published in the past on him.
